Office of the President

As elected chief executive officer, the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) President is accountable to the congregations of the Association and works closely with the UUA Board of Trustees in setting policies and establishing programs. The President is the chief spokesperson for the UUA.

Three Interim Co-Presidents were appointed  by the Board on April 10, 2017:

They will serve until the election of a new President at General Assembly in June, 2017. The previous President, Rev. Peter Morales, resigned in March, 2017.

The Interim Chief Operating Officer, Rev. Sarah Lammert (coo [at] uua [dot] org), is responsible, under the supervision of the President, for the day-to-day management of the Association. She supervises all UUA senior staff, coordinates the work of the UUA legal counsel, is responsible for personnel matters in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources, and acts on the Association's behalf in the President's absence.

For questions concerning the incorporation of congregations, 501(c)(3) and tax or legal related matters, please contact the office of the Chief Operating Officer at administration [at] uua [dot] org.

A Registry of Conscientious Objectors is maintained by the Association for recording voluntary written statements of conscientious objection to war by members of Unitarian Universalist congregations; for more information, contact the office of the Chief Operating Officer at administration [at] uua [dot] org.
