When run with the recommended widgets and plugins, the WordPress theme offers these features, which you can view on the demo site:

• The customizable homepage:
  • automatically updates to advertise your next worship service, and features a video, an image, or a series of scrolling photos with text.
  • features three boxes with photos, short descriptions, and links where you can highlight different aspects of your congregation
  • shows your recent news, events, and testimonials, each generated by a plugin that organizes the content and keeps it fresh. You can also put different widgets in those areas if you want something else entirely.
• The header, which appears on every page:
  • features a directions link, which generates a Google Map and a link to Google Maps directions
  • a search link, which displays a search box for your site
  • a link to your donations page
  • a link to your contact form
  • Icons for Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, GooglePlus, LinkedIn or Instagram that link to your congregation’s social media pages.
• The footer, which appears on every page, contains four areas, three of which are customizable:

• Sidebars on each page that feature your next worship, your news, your events, and more.
• Add the bookstore widget from inSpirit: The UU Book and Gift Shop. It is a great resource that connects users of your website―congregants, new members, seekers, and more―to new and recommended titles from the bookstore. Books are hand selected by the booksellers at inSpirit and all purchases support UUA programs and services and our larger faith.
