UUA Insurance Plans for Congregational Employees

2023 Open Enrollment: The UUA Health and Dental Insurance Plans generally hold an open enrollment registration period throughout the month of November. This is an opportunity to the staff of our congregations and participating employers to enroll in our health and dental plans, change their enrollment preferences, or terminate their participation. All changes made during open enrollment are effective January 1, 2023. For an assortment of reasons, the UUA Open Enrollment period is slightly delayed this year. It will begin November 15 and conclude no earlier than December 15. 2022. The Health Insurance premium rate increase for calendar year 2023 is seven (7) percent. Dental insurance rates will remain unchanged for 2023. This year we'll also be offering new group insurance products: Hospital and Accidental indemnity optional coverage for members requiring a higher threshold of care.

All this has been occurring in the very challenging economic environment affecting the availability and delivery of health care. We are also still coping with the effects of the COVID pandemic. As a result, the UUA Insurance Plans staff, together with the UUA Health Plan Committee and our outside consultants, decided it prudent to delay open enrollment to better analyze current trends before setting 2023 plan rates and benefit changes. Premiums and Benefits are set by the UUA Health Plan Committee while claims processing and related services are provided through Highmark Blue Cross under contract to the UUA. Started in 2007, the UUA Health Insurance plan reflects UUA Values and prides itself on quality customer service.
