The Party Party
Part of Deeper Joy
Take aways may include: bringing people together, creating something together, commitment and follow through, acceptable failure.
Parameters: more than 2 people, in person and/or virtually.
Plan an event together! You group could plan an hour long experience, a half day, an overnighter or a weekend experience. Depending on the capacity and skill level of the group decide what tasks the facilitator while take on and what the group members will do. Here's some questions to get you started.
- What's the purpose of the event (e.g., celebration, fundraiser, team-building) and who are the guests? What's the theme of the event? What decorations/aesthetics will create the vibe?
- How do we make sure the event is inclusive, safe and accessible?
- Where will it be? Who do we need to coordinate with, what are the restrictions? What accessibility considerations do we need to have in place?
- How will we plan together? Who will do what? How will we communicate? How much time a week do we have to dedicate? How will we make sure the work is sustainable and equitable?
- Will there be food?
- What activities will we do? Do we need supplies? Equipment? What's the schedule?
- What's the budget and how will we pay for it?
- When will this be? (wait to decide this until you have an estimate of how much time people have to put towards this)
- How will we get the word out? Do we need registration? RSVPs? What do attendees need to know in advance?
- Should we do a run through? When should we arrive to set up? What clean up needs to be done?
- How do we support each other during the event?
- How do we get feedback about the event? When do we debrief?
