Looking for a Page Template w/o Left Sidebar

Has anyone successfully created one? I've started tinkering.

Since the Left Sidebar Widget does not work on Pages and our content is targeted to audiences rather than within Parent/Child structure, I'm looking to reclaim some screen real estate.

Our website uses the left column for internal navigation. Many pages don’t have it because they are not a child page of a parent page, under a higher category. Did you find a solution yet? Our calendar page does not have it.
