Your Southern Region Staff is looking forward to another great year of learning, loving, and leading with you!

We are so thrilled to share meaningful partnership with you this year through multiple opportunities for guidance and leadership development in our Southern Region programming. Most notably:

• Our three-part Southern Region Leadership Experience will be offered again this year. The Primer Leadership Experience, which is for everyone, is accessible at any time, with processing sessions on October 25, 2023, and February 7, 2024. You can register NOW for the October 25th Processing Session. The Essentials Leadership Experience will be open for registration soon, with processing dates on February 24, March 23, and April 20, 2024. The last portion of our Leadership Experience, The Breakthrough, will be scheduled in the late spring. You can find more information about Leadership Experiences (and registration links as they become available) on our Southern Region Leadership Experiences web page.
• The Southern Region offers Presidents’ Gatherings on the second Tuesday of most months, beginning on October 10, 2023. These gatherings are a time to support the unique role of presidents in each congregation. This year, the programming for these gatherings will be condensed to allow more time for cross-congregational collaboration, and the material that is presented will be completely different from the Toolbox Series to help you focus more on the creativity and care required of you at this time. Registration for our 2023-2024 Presidents Gatherings will be coming soon!
• In light of all of the deplorable attacks on the lives and livelihoods of our LGBTQ+ members recently, the Southern Region is proud to offer a concentrated track for congregations wishing to support their LGBTQ+ members, and especially their Trans and Non-Binary Members. This concentrated track will have three live sessions with the following foci: 
  • September 18, 2023: Pastoral Support in the Congregation
  • October 23, 2023: Structural/Programming Support in the Congregation
  • November 20, 2023: Direction Action and Creating Justice

• Let us know about your upcoming major milestones — anniversaries, building dedications and minister ordinations/installations. We will be happy to include them in our monthly e-news and on our Facebook page where appropriate. To share this information, send an email to the Southern Region administrator.
• Plan for upcoming events by reviewing the Southern Region calendar.
• Learn more about the latest going on with our UUA’s efforts to justice initiatives — including countering white supremacy — through Side with Love, Black Lives of UU, Love Resists, and the fall edition of UU World magazine.
