Faith CoLab: Tapestry of Faith: The Wi$dom Path: An Adult Program on Money, Spirit, and Life

Spiritual Preparation

Part of The Wi$dom Path

Reflect on your own relationship to money. Use this exercise to sharpen your awareness of and sensitivity to issues that might be raised with and by the participants and, thus, help you effectively facilitate this program. Use these questions as a guide:

  • How do you define your own cultural and socioeconomic background and your current socioeconomic status? How do your background and your current status influence your relationship with money? Consider ways in which your background or socioeconomic status may influence your interactions with people from other backgrounds. (You may wish to discuss this with your co-facilitator. Enlist one another to help keep out of the workshop assumptions and reactions connected to a facilitator’s background or socioeconomic status.)
  • Consider which parts of your financial life are most difficult or challenging for you. What are the most important lessons you have learned about money? How (or from whom) did you learn those lessons?
  • What motivated you to lead this program? What are your hopes for leading the program?

If you wish to reflect in more detail before this workshop, complete the Taking It Home activity you will assign the group during this workshop’s Closing.
