How do we, as Unitarian Universalists, organize ourselves to live our values and meet this moment in history?

That’s the big question the UUA Bylaws Renewal Team is exploring — and we want your voice in the conversation!

Our bylaws dictate how we make decisions, share leadership, and move our faith forward together. They shape everything from how authority and accountability work to how we show up for one another as a movement. As Unitarian Universalists, we’re called to imagine and build systems that truly reflect our values—collaborative, inclusive, accountable, and responsive to the world we’re living in now and in the future.

We’re hosting a series of stakeholder sessions. In these sessions, we’ll explore:

• How leadership across the UUA might be structured to serve our mission and values most effectively.
• What balance of authority, accountability, and shared responsibility best supports our faith.
• What kinds of structures can truly support our shared mission and values.

Whether you’re deeply involved in UU leadership or a UU passionate about how our faith is governed, your perspective matters. This is about shaping the systems that shape us — and creating a foundation that helps Unitarian Universalism thrive into the future.
