NER Liberating Practices, May gathering

A murmuration of birds fly against a pink sky. Superimposed on the field and tree landscape at the bottom of the image are the words Liberating Practices.

For our Liberating Practices gathering in May, we’re going to be trying something new. You’ve been asking for us to get more concrete in our conversations, so we’re going to be using a case study this month to practice thinking about how to rearrange, restructure, and reinvent “the way we’ve always done it.” Pre-work will include the whole case, with several versions to choose from based on congregation size.

Our gathering this month will be Tuesday, May 21st from 7:00 to 8:30pm ET on Zoom. Sign up here to automatically receive the registration link and the pre-work when it is available. Please note, individual registration is required for each gathering in addition to signing up for mailing list so we know how many people to expect and may best prepare.

The registration deadline is Monday, May 20.

The majority of our time is spent in small group discussions of our theme with people from multiple congregations. We encourage you to attend as many gatherings as you can, but there is no expectation that you attend all the gatherings. Come when it works for you.

Before each gathering you will receive an email message with a few small items to read, watch, or listen to along with reflection questions on the monthly theme. These will help you prepare for the gathering if you can come, and if not, they will help you engage the learning on your own or with a team from your congregation. Please take the time and come prepared - both to share and to listen!
