New England Region is offering a two-part series for all Interim Ministers, Board members, Transition Team members, and staff of congregations beginning interim ministry in the fall of 2023.

This is the first session of the series. Part 1 will help leaders understand the dynamics of congregations in the interim period and prepare to make the most of this time. Leaders will meet peers from other congregations to share how these dynamics are showing up in their congregation. We will consider the tasks of the interim ministry and whose work it is.

The second session will be led by one of the New England Region staff with your congregation’s leadership and Interim Minister at a date to be determined. Together you will explore stories from the congregation’s past which have shaped its present and look at the specifics and particularities of how minister and leadership share the ministry in this congregation.

Together this two-part series is designed to jumpstart the work of Interim Ministry in its first year. Any congregation entering Interim Ministry this fall, expecting a two-year interim, will want to be ready to appoint a search team by next June. To be ready, a congregation needs to explore their past and present and begin imagining a new future centered in the realities of today. Join us - and your sibling congregations - to embark on this year together in the most productive way.
