Seeking Experienced Facilitators to Propose & Lead Wave Cohorts at GA 2026
Are you an experienced facilitator with a passion for Unitarian Universalism, interested in gathering Unitarian Universalists to build, discern, and move together on an important topic or shared identity that is especially relevant in this moment?
“Meet the Moment: Together Everywhere” is the theme for our 2026 General Assembly. We are embracing this ethos by offering the chance for all GA participants to gain skills, build community, and engage in faithful preparation for this moment by joining a live, interactive, topic-focused, collective skill-building Wave Cohort from wherever they are! These 3-hour, condensed experiences will be offered in both in-person and virtual formats, and they will be facilitated by teams of 2-3 people with expertise in their subject matter.
The UUA’s Meet the Moment team is requesting proposals from teams of folks who would like to plan and facilitate these Wave Cohorts, on a topic of their choosing and in a location that works best for them- virtually or in-person at one of our GA locations across the US.
Submit a Proposal by Friday, April 17, 2026
By inviting participants to dive into three guiding questions related to their topic, teams facilitating the Wave Cohort process will bring together leaders, volunteers, and religious professionals across the movement in a container to harness shared wisdom and collective power to move strategically and adapt to the shifting seas around us.
We hope both experienced and first-time Wave Cohort facilitators will propose GA Wave Cohorts, as together we engage faithful skill building, support deeper community connection, and generate power as Unitarian Universalists.
Accepted proposals will be announced by Friday, April 24, 2026.

- Meet the Moment: Opening Program
EDT: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
CDT: 10:00 – 11:00 am
MDT: 9:00 – 10:00 am
PDT: 8:00 – 9:00 am
We begin Saturday with a shared virtual experience for all participants. The Opening Program will introduce Meet the Moment as a movement-wide framework that calls Unitarian Universalists to shared analysis-building, collective discernment, and faithful action in response to today’s shifting cultural, generational, political, and religious realities. Together we will reflect on the ways our tradition has always been both grounded in core values and open to transformation, and we will prepare our spirits for the day of learning ahead. - Meet the Moment: Breakout Groups
EDT: 1:30 – 4:30 pm
CDT: 12:30 – 3:30 pm
MDT: 11:30 am – 2:30 pm
PDT: 10:30 am – 1:30 pm
Following the Opening Program, participants will join Wave Cohorts, with options to participate virtually or locally, for deeper engagement with the practices of Meet the Moment. There will be several Wave Cohorts in each setting to choose from, focused on a particular topic that is critical to Unitarian Universalism in this Moment. Each Wave Cohort will guide participants through a Meet the Moment process, analyzing the Moment we are in, identifying the needs and opportunities of this Moment, and using our shared values to identify ways we can Meet the Moment, together. We will consider what it means to let go of what no longer serves, embrace new possibilities, and act with courage and love in changing times. - Featured Speaker 1
EDT: 2:00 – 3:00 pm
CDT: 1:00 – 2:00 pm

Both sessions will be recorded and available for later viewing for those participating in concurrent programming. - Featured Speaker 2

We close our Meet the Moment programming by coming together for a virtual Wrap-Up Session that gathers the wisdom, insights, and commitments arising from our Wave Cohort experiences.
