Fat Liberation in a Time of Body Fascism

Wave Cohort Details

Fat Liberation in a Time of Body Fascism will introduce the concept of fat liberation and connect it to our UU values. Participants will explore historical and modern body fascism, healthism, and implicit bias at the intersection of bodies, UU theology, and social justice. After a grounding in fat liberation, participants will work on incorporating new concepts into their daily lives and their congregational cultures. This program is appropriate for both people in larger bodies and their allies. Breakout groups will work both separately and together during the cohort to address personal, communal, and larger political issues.
