APF Pledge Forms
Anticipated Ask Letters (Fall)
Each fall the Congregational Giving team sends an Anticipated Ask letter to all member congregations indicating the expected level of APF support that will be requested for the next fiscal year. The letters also show how the ask amount was calculated, based on data provided by congregations during the previous annual certification process.
The purpose of these letters is to provide important information early so it can be factored into congregations’ budget cycle. This early communication also allows time for us to make any adjustments (if any data discrepancies are discovered) before final Ask letters go out in the spring.
Request for Support (Spring)
Each spring, around April 1, Request for Support packets are sent to member congregations with the final calculated APF Ask Amount for the next fiscal year beginning July 1. Included in this mailing is a pledge form for the upcoming fiscal year.
If your congregation did not receive its annual request for support, or if you have any questions regarding the pledge process or the final Ask Amount, please contact the Congregational Giving team at apf@uua.org or by calling (617) 948-6512.
Submitting a Pledge
Just as congregations rely on their members’ pledges to inform their budgeting process each year, the UUA relies on congregations pledging their APF commitments as early as possible to plan for the year ahead.
Congregations are asked to submit their pledge online or return their pledge form to the UUA by June 15 of each year; pledges can still be submitted after the start of the fiscal year. No payments are due prior to the July 1 start of the new fiscal year.
If your congregation’s fiscal year is different than the UUA fiscal year, please pledge the amount the congregation intends to contribute between July 1 — June 30 of the new fiscal year.
Online Pledge Form
Congregations are strongly encouraged to submit their APF pledge online, to ensure timely and accurate processing of each pledge.
Pledging online also offers the advantage of being able to sign up for automatic ACH debit payments from your congregation’s bank account. Congregations can choose to schedule a single, one-time payment during the fiscal year, or opt for monthly, quarterly or semi-annual payments.
New for FY26: Please download and review the document Submitting Your Congregation’s APF Pledge Online, as there are several changes to the online form from prior years:
- Congregations now have more flexibility in scheduling monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or one-time ACH debit payments, including selecting which day of the month to have debits processed.
- Congregations enrolling in scheduled ACH debit payments must use the online pledge form and enroll at the time of pledging. This change ensures that your banking information remains confidential and secure.
- To enroll in automatic ACH debit payments you will need your congregation’s online banking credentials (User ID and Password). Your login credentials will be used for a one-time authorization only and will not be saved, nor will UUA staff have access to them.
Alternate Pledge Options
If pledging online is not an option, congregations can fill out the printed pledge form they were sent and return it by mail, or by scanning it and emailing it to apf@uua.org. You’ll receive a confirmation email when we receive your pledge, regardless of how it was submitted.
