Do

Hang/place two large sheets of paper around the room, and distribute index cards to participants. Invite participants to brainstorm answers to the following:

  1. What makes aconstructive conversation across ideological differences? How can we foster these?
  2. What makes anunconstructive, harmful or derailing conversation across differences? How can we disrupt these?

Post the index cards on the sheets of paper so that participants can silently review responses before opening a discussion with questions like:

  • What stood out to you?
  • Where do you fit in with fostering constructive dialogues and disrupting harmful ones?
  • Why does this matter for our work for racial justice?
