Selling Your Building (or Other Property)

Part of Congregational Life Cycles

If your congregation has decided to sell its property, whether to dissolve the congregation or to find a new home, you’ll want to contact an area real estate agent to look into the sale of your property. You may want to specifically search for one with knowledge of how to sell a religious building. Make sure the agent is certified and has good references.

You will also want to make sure you have all of your property paperwork in order, with clear title, etc.

Contact your UUA regional Congregational Life staff to see if there are any recommendations from other congregations in your area.
