Guided By Youth
Led by Jennica Davis-Hockett and Mylo Way, this wave cohort met through the Spring of 2025 and for three days at General Assembly 2025.
Description: In a world shaken by climate collapse, rising authoritarianism, and widening inequality, our high school youth are not just witnesses to change—they are already its architects. Being Guided By Youth is a creative, participatory program rooted in the belief that the wisdom we need for these times is already alive in our young people. By contextualizing the past and listening deeply to youth perspectives on our current geopolitical moment, we honor their insights not as future potential but as present-day truth-telling.
This program asks: What values are most urgent for young people now? What are youth observing that adults are ignoring? And what bold actions are called for in response? Together, we will co-create a space with youth voices at the center where we interrogate inherited systems and shape a shared vision for justice, community, and liberation. The path forward is not just about mentoring youth—it’s about being mentored by them.
Note: This cohort prioritized the ideas and opinions and input of youth, AND everyone was welcomed to attend.
