Embodied Practices for Liberation: Growing Capacity for Embodiment in Community & Spirituality Fall 2025 Wave Cohorts

Cohort Details

Are you a practitioner of theater, dance, movement, communal music, energy work, embodied ritual, or other embodied practice? Have you been exploring how this practice informs Unitarian Universalism and/or collective liberation? If so, we invite you to consider applying for this community of practice and reflection. Together over four sessions, we will co-create a space for play and knowledge sharing that is grounded theologically and explores new possibilities for our faith communities.

Facilitators

The facilitators of this Wave Cohort bring experiences with various embodied practices, including Playback Theatre, InterPlay, Theatre of the Oppressed, multi-generational community singing, and embodied trauma-aware chaplaincy practices. We believe that as we face change, longings for meaningful spiritual community, and rising fascism, these embodied community-building practices have vital gifts to offer our faith tradition – and that we need a community of practice to help guide, inform, and ground future explorations of these practices within our denomination.
