Your generous gift for the Fall 2025 Chalice Lighter call will help our Central East Region UU congregations thrive and spread our message of love, justice and inclusion..

This fall, you are helping three small congregations achieve their visions.

• Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalists, a 56 member congregation in Finksburg MD, will be able to audaciously undertake a major two phased construction project to make its building accessible and welcoming to people of all levels of mobility by using a large part of their endowment, a capital campaign and a $40,000 Chalice Lighter Grant.
• The UU Fellowship of the Poconos, a growing 56 member congregation in Stroudsburg PA, will be able to add a much needed part time administrator. They are planning that the $18,720 grant, paid out over three years, will lead to continued growth in members and pledge income, allowing them to fully fund the position at the end of the grant.
• The UU Church of Hamburg, with 25 members in Hamburg, NY, is determined to revitalize the exterior and interior of their 1893 building to reflect the vitality of their programming and make all feel more welcome. A $20,000 Chalice Lighter Grant will make their vision reality.

Your donations provide the funds to make grants to UU congregations and groups of congregations throughout our region, helping them to build strong, resilient, and justice-loving communities. Please give by December 15 to help us reach our goal.
