Find A OWL Program

Are you looking for a place for you or your child to participate in an OWL sexuality education program?

Because of the decentralized nature of our faith, we cannot track all of the places that are running OWL programs at any one time. But we do have some tips for helping you find a place for you or your child to take an OWL class.

Find Your Local UU Congregation

Use our Find a Congregation feature to locate a congregation in your area. Once a congregation has been located, visit their website to find an email address for the Director or Coordinator of the Religious Exploration or Education program (DRE or CRE). At that point, you may inquire whether the congregation offers OWL classes for your desired age levels.

Contact Your UUA Regional Staff

Your UUA Region to ask whether they have more location-specific information about OWL classes in your area.

Find a Local United Church of Christ (UCC) Congregation

Look up local UCC congregations on the UUC website. Once you locate a congregation in your area, visit their website to find an email address for the Pastor or Christian Education Director. At that point, you may inquire whether the congregation offers OWL classes for your desired age levels.

Start Your Own OWL Program

If you can’t find a local OWL class; consider seeing if your local congregation or other organization will host an OWL Facilitator training so that you can offer the program yourself. (Don’t forget to invite neighboring congregations!)

You can find a full OWL Facilitator Training Guide on our site.

The OWL curriculum is co-published by the UUA and the UCC. We work with trainers across the US to train and approve facilitators in communities all over the US and Canada. These facilitators take the OWL curriculum into congregations, schools, and communities.
