AI Use
The Religious Education Credentialing Committee is currently evaluating policy concerning candidates’ use of Artificial Intelligence in their work. For interviews taking place in April 2027, the policy is as follows:
Allowed Usage
Artificial intelligence may be included in software candidates use to edit, transcribe, or dictate materials. Artificial intelligence can be a useful tool in helping a candidate prepare and study when paired with a candidate’s own critical thinking, life experiences, and understanding of content. You will be responsible for any errors or omissions provided by the tool. AI works best for topics you understand. Where it is used, it must be referenced or acknowledged.
Disallowed Usage
The use of AI tools cannot be used to fully write, research, or create artwork/images or audio files for your assessments.
AI tools cannot be used as a substitute for the candidate’s own learning and deep understanding when demonstrating competencies in written packets, presentations, or interviews.
Citation
As the use of AI Tools evolves, candidates will conform to prevalent academic standards when citing the use of AI tools in packet, presentation, or interview preparations.
Candidates may also choose to attach a reflective essay in an AI appendix that shows prompts used, revisions or exclusions, and follow-up questions, with a reflection about learnings.
