What's the recommended way of generating a site map?
The subject of a site map came up, raised by someone I work with on our web sites. She concentrates mostly on content, while I like the nitty gritty techie stuff. So, her raising the topic was not from the perspective of SEO. I think she was looking at getting a list of site pages, in a convenient form. So, what is your recommended site map mechanism? I note that Yoast SEO is a recommended plugin, and has a Site Map capability. It's probably focused on providing a site map for SEO purposes. Any other thoughts?

Someone replied: The YOAST SEO sitemap is an xml style map for SEO/crawler bots. If you're looking for a map to display on the site, I've always used a custom page template (basically it just queries all the pages, posts, etc. and outputs them in lists - with hierarchy for the pages), but I would imagine that there's a plugin that would do it too. The WordPress recommendation would probably be not to output the pages in that way, but rather using one of the menu functions.
