UUA Theme with WP 5.6.1 and PHP 7.4
Last week, WordPress updated to version 5.6 and I also had to update our PHP version to 7.4. I also updated the UUA theme to 1.3.3 from what we were running, which was somewhere in 1.1. These updates caused a few problems but I was able to sort through them.
What I can't seem to fix is that half of our home page is now in italics whereas previously, it was not. Example: some of our larger widget areas are now in italics (titles and descriptions); sidebar information is in italics; upcoming services past one week later are in italics; all of our footer text is in italics. Do I have to apply custom CSS to revert this or is there a setting I can change?

Wow, that is weird. Some <i> tag must not be closed. Let me ask around.
Can you share your congregation URL with us to take a look?
I suspect there is an open italics tag <i> or <em> which is missing it's closing tag </i> or </em>. You might want to look at editing the content where the italics start to make sure it ends someplace too.
Thanks!

All of the italics that are happening are theme-based. They aren't anyplace where I've selected italics or do any kind of customizing. The home page seems to have been fixed with widgets and our footer areas. Yesterday, it was still happening on our Services page but as of this moment, it seems to have been corrected, so I'm very appreciative!
Thanks for sharing your site URL. It looks like the issue was caused by italics used in your content for the February 14th service: "Beloved: A Valentine’s Day Service."
When you view the Past Services page, you'll notice most of the page is in italics after that service. This is because the autogenerated excerpt (short description) cuts off the italic text before it includes the closing italics tag. This likely happened all over the site when that service was being displayed as the "Upcoming Service" on the homepage and right sidebar.
It's "fixed" now because it's no longer the upcoming service.
I recommend using the "Excerpt" field when creating/editing a Service to avoid broken styling in the autogenerated except.
Thanks!
I added an excerpt and it worked! Thanks very much!
