Staff Slugs no longer work
After I updated the theme for our site last year, several things got a little buggy. On the Our Ministers and Staff page, the Read More links kick you back to the homepage of the site.
It looks like it has added some random code to the slug (?uid=) which isn't showing up on the "Read more" link on the staff page
on the individual pages the link shows up as https://jeffersonunitarian.org/staff/?uid=wendy-williams
the "Read More" link is https://jeffersonunitarian.org/staff/wendy-williams and when you click on it, it redirects to the Home Page
I dug around in the Staff function and the individual pages to try to change it and didn't see a way. I tried to change the slug to something else, and that random code still shows up.
Please advise on how to fix this - thank you!

Here are comments that didn't make the migration to the new UUA.org system in August 2020.

I think we are having the same problem here. We can view the service on the homepage, in the archive or on the upcoming services page, but now when we click on the link to go to the individual service, it is always broken. This started when I installed the upgrade.

Hmm.. have you tried resetting your permalinks?
NOTICE: First backup your site database and files before attempting these changes!
Go to Settings › Permalinks – then make sure the "Common Settings" are set to "Post name." Then click the "Save changes" button.
Click save even if you've changed nothing– sometimes that helps reset the permalinks and will get the individual (single) service URLs to work again.

I'm on the latest version of the theme and services (www.cvuus.org) and the staff pages are right (https://cvuus/org/staff-2).
I'm thinking of ditching the whole Staff functionality and just making a regular page for each staff member and having the staff page link to them in the usual way.
M20, that sounds like a separate issue (service pages rather than staff pages). Is that right?
M20 replied:
Sorry for the delay. Yes, it is the service pages rather than the staff pages. The links to the individual service pages no longer work.

To the OP – if you updated the Staffer plugin to the latest version (v2.1.0), it included some major changes and it's buggy.
You can try fixing these bugs by replacing it with my patched version here: https://github.com/kevinvess/staffer. Or, rollback to a previous version which was working for you.
I recommend you consider replacing the Staffer plugin with something entirely different, or just use regular pages for your staff pages.
Thanks!
