UU Whole Church Curriculum Development at Ferry Beach
Event format: On-site
Date & time:
- Saturday, July 11, 2026, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT
Type of event: Training
The UU Whole Church Curriculum Development module will be offered for Sparks credit at Ferry Beach on July 11-17, 2026. The module will be led by Nao Bethea from the UUA Lifespan Faith Engagement team (MSW, CRE-LL ), and Adena Dannouf (CRE-AL).
Learning can happen in our UU communities at any time, planned or unplanned - and also, our roles often call us to prepare learning opportunities for many ages in many settings. Join us for a chance to engage with the Curriculum Planning Sparks Module including added considerations for the current culture changes in the Religious Education landscape.
In this Sparks training, we will:
- Clarify and expand an understanding of curriculum, religious education, and faith development;
- Understand the curriculum planning process and consider strategies to use the process effectively in one’s own congregation including how to use curriculum choices and implementation to foster inclusive, multicultural, and multigenerational faith communities;
- Learn about and crowdsource various curriculum sources and where to find them;
- Network and work with other religious educators and be affirmed and nurtured by a supportive community
This training will use part of the Curriculum Planning Sparks Module, along with other updated resources and activities selected by the facilitators. It has a $100 fee paid directly to the Sparks Office (with a sliding scale available). Please register separately with the UUA by the July 4 deadline.
Note: You will also need to be registered for RE Week @ Ferry Beach to participate.
