Our church commissioned a workgroup that is completing an 18 month study of the WTCC curriculum. We will share what we learned and specific recommendations for various parts of our Church in a service in August. Our recommendations fall into two main parts:

One part is continuing study and education. For example we propose training for lay leaders and staff on decentering Whiteness, and we are bringing an anti-racist theater group from Michigan State University to services to help members explore implicit bias.

Another part is redoubled commitment to anti-racist programs to which we are already committed: partnering with a refugee serving organization co-located with us, supporting a community kitchen and participating in a local reparations project.
