Tone Singing

Part of Deeper Joy Map & Games

Themes: Finding shared calm, practicing deep listening, and attuning together.

Participants: 2+, in person.

Have each person close their eyes or have them downcast and create sound on a different tone, making a sound such as “Om” or “Oooooooo.” Hold the tones as long as possible, taking staggered breaths so the collective sound remains continuous. Listen as voices come into harmony, noticing blend, resonance, and how the sound shifts as participants adjust. Invite one or two additional rounds, encouraging gentle experimentation with pitch and volume while maintaining steady breath. End by resting in a few moments of silence to feel the contrast after the shared tone, then invite a brief check-in on what was noticed. Passing or adapting is always welcome.
