Is this theme still being actively developed/supported?
By uuawebteam
My church is asking about using this theme for their new website and it appears that this theme is no longer under active development. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Evidence: I know the theme could be used as-is anyway, but I'm curious if this project has been abandoned. Of course, if it has I'm not likely to get an answer :-) Thanks!

Questions for Christopher:
Is is already possible to subscribe to the forum so that we can automatically receive posts to the forum in our email?  I don't visit the forum unless I have a question, but if I saw a post in my email that I could answer, I'd be happy to help.  If such a mechanism exists, please let me know!
Also, do you anticipate that you would want development help with the theme?  This is also something I'd be happy to help with.

Hi Heather. No there isn't an email subscribe function, but there is an RSS feed at http://uuatheme.org/question/feed/ that you can subscribe to and get notified of new posts. If you'd like to help out I would welcome the help. Can you send me an email with how you imagine you might help out? And thank you!

It's under slow, when I have some time, development. And this year, "when I have time" has been limited by a new baby, a wedding, two new jobs and a cross-country move. An update went out to some of the beta testers in November and after incorporating their feedback, another beta will go out to them (and the remaining beta testers) this week. Thank you for the reminder that I need to add a news post.

There are actually lots of replies in the forum from me that are less than six months ago, including some from last week, so I'm not sure where you're getting that. I answer about twenty emails a week related to the theme, as well as provide support in the UU Website Lab on Facebook, and that's about the limit of what I can handle.

What has been most surprising in this process, and something I certainly accounted for differently, is how little congregations are supporting one another. There are over 100 congregations that have implemented the theme successfully, and a very scarce few have folks who have then returned to support others. It's not what I expected, and suggests that such a model can't be maintained for very long.

Great, thank you for the response. Very reassuring. I hope the UUA is supporting your time on the project.

Forums are a funny thing. I'd guess in this case most people get their theme working and then are on to other things. Probably most of them are not pros who monitor forums. The web dev world is a special animal in that regard.

Best of luck with all your ch-ch-changes.

Just a little note -- i have emailed some of the congregations directly with a few questions and gotten great responses from their web admins/webmasters... I didn't use the forum always...
So perhaps others have done this ?

Thanks for great work all!

I have felt supported in this forum and the Facebook site, both by Christopher and other webmasters. I have endeavored to answer those questions for which I could contribute, and have also been contacted offline through my church office, responding by email and (sometimes lengthy) phone calls.

Not sure who webuuprinceton is, but I thank you and Jim both for your generous support of folks who are trying to learn from what you've done!
