Commissioned Lay Ministry Application Process

Request the application materials from the program administrator at cer@uua.org.

The application materials include the following:

  • The Application Form
  • The Letter of Agreement with the congregation
  • Three Reference Letters
  • The Covenant with the congregational minister or covenanting partner.
  • A signed copy of the CLM Ethics Statement — PDF or Word Doc

All these materials should be submitted to the program administrator at cer@uua.org

Once all the materials are received, the CLM Council will schedule an interview with the aspirant.

If the congregation already has a CLM process, this will need to be reviewed with the CLM Council and congregational leadership and amended as necessary.
