Year-long Transitions Ministry Training (YLTMT) class, which begins in mid-August and continues through mid-May, provides an innovative learning model for transitional ministries of all types, based on the educational programs of the interfaith Interim Ministry Network. We travel to Montgomery, AL, usually in October, to enrich learning through exploring historic and contemporary civil rights.

In a design that incorporates theory and practice, learning and application, UU values and commitments, the course builds collegial connections through small group exploration and provides a rich array of resources for your transitions ministry. components of the YLTMT course include the work of the transitional leader, the focus points of the congregational process, our Unitarian Universalist commitment to widening our circles of belonging, and an in-depth experience of key sites in the struggle for racial justice.  During the Spring, each participant will create a capstone presentation, integrating key elements of your learning as they have informed your ministry.

Substantial readings are also included, which then become ongoing referential material for ministry. The reading list also includes highly recommended books from Skinner House and Beacon Press.

Registration for the course typically opens in June each year.
