Financial Aid for Continuing Education
Grants are available through the Professional Development Office to help ministers in fellowship fund their continuing education (CE) efforts. First time CE grants are awarded for 1/3 of the total program cost to a maximum of $800 per fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Subsequent requests vary due to frequency of requests.
Applications will be accepted at any time and will be evaluated twice during the year—on July 15th and January 15th.
On July 15, funds will be granted for applications received by July 1. Grants will continue to be made as new applications are received until 50% of available funds are awarded. At that point, unfunded applications will be held until January 15th when a second round of grants will be awarded. After January 15th, applications will be accepted until funds are exhausted.
Awards will be made in order of preference to those:
- who have received recommendations for continuing education from Review Team or the Ministerial Fellowship Committee (MFC)
- in Preliminary Fellowship
- active in ministry
- who did not receive funds in the prior year
- without professional development funds
- with low professional development funds.
Beyond that, grants will be made first come, first served.
Programs must take place during the current fiscal year and should strengthen a minister’s current ministry through skills development, spiritual deepening, and/or collegial connections.
