Materials for Activity

• Clear carbonated water or soda
• Tall clear glass
• Small raisins

Description of Activity

Gather participants around the tall glass so all can see. Fill the glass with the carbonated liquid, and then gently add a few raisins. Watch as the bob up and down in the water. See if participants can reason why they seemingly “float” to the top, and then drop back down to the bottom.
