Richard Rohr

Full name: Fr. Richard Rohr

Richard Rohr, O.F.M. is a Franciscan friar ordained to the priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church in 1970. He is the founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, an educational nonprofit dedicated to introducing seekers to the contemplative Christian path of transformation. Fr. Richard’s teaching is grounded in the Franciscan alternative orthodoxy—practices of contemplation and self-emptying, expressing itself in radical compassion, particularly for the socially marginalized.

Rohr is the author of numerous books, including the New York Times bestseller The Universal Christ. His work has been featured on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday and On Being with Krista Tippett, and in The New Yorker and Harper’s magazine.
