Charissa Benak

Charissa came to the UUA in 2016, after working as a church administrator at a UU congregation in New London, CT, where she was first introduced to Unitarian Universalism.

In her role as the Retirement Plan Specialist, Charissa works with congregational staff at UU Organizations participating in the denominational retirement plan, to help them enroll, determine eligibility, and remit retirement contributions for their employees. Charissa also provides direct services to plan participants of the retirement plan answering questions and processing distribution requests.

Charissa telecommutes from CT where she lives with her husband Sean, and their fierce and independent daughter Delilah. Charissa loves spending time with family and friends and is a board member for A Sacred Place, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing rehabilitative programs and educational opportunities for incarcerated women in Connecticut.
