UURISE: UU Refugee and Immigrant Services and Education, Inc.

Unitarian Universalist Refugee and Immigrant Services and Education (UURISE) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3). Our mission is: Advancing justice and human rights for immigrants and refugees.

UURISE provides free and low-cost immigration legal and support services, specializing in helping disenfranchised, exploited, vulnerable immigrants such as victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, or other crimes.

Services are provided in office, remotely, and through UURISE Justice Portal / Ventanilla de Justicia partnerships with Unitarian Universalist Congregations and community organizations in areas with limited access to trustworthy immigration legal and support services.

Nationally, the UURISE Team organizes Unitarian Universalists and other liberal organizations to deepen and broaden their immigrant rights and justice work by providing support, training, and technical assistance on a range of issues, including guidance and facilitation for the discernment process related to Sanctuary and accompaniment, and for developing covenanted, accountable relationships in the community.
