Are you a lay leader in a New England congregation, wanting a supportive environment to develop your skills in preaching and worship leadership? Has your congregation moved to part-time ministry and is seeking more leaders for Sunday services?
The New England Region of the UUA is offering an interactive course, facilitated by a lay leader, Kay Judd, and a minister, Heather Janules, for those looking to enhance their knowledge and ability to serve in the pulpit.
This course aims to deepen connection and trust among UUs who seek to share mind and heart in service to Sunday worship. Drawing from The Shared Pulpit: A Sermon Seminar for Lay People, the UU Institute course Worship for Transformation and other resources, participants will be supported and equipped towards preaching with an authentic voice.
The group gathers for six sessions, every other Wednesday beginning October 8th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm by Zoom.
- 10/08/2025
- 10/22/2025
- 11/05/2025
- 11/19/2025
- 12/03/2025
- 12/17/2025
Times to remain the same: 6:30pm to 8:30pm, ET.
After these sessions, the group will schedule two more sessions in early 2026 for hearing each other’s sermons. Participants commit to attending each session, completing any prework and engaging in the discussions. Together we will create a covenant to guide how we learn and grow together. The only associated cost is purchasing the book The Shared Pulpit.
