Congregational Leaders Conversation

cong leaders conversation

Each month, leaders from across the country gather to hear an esteemed guest speak on an emergent issue, hopeful development, or pressing concern in Unitarian Universalism.

The presentation is followed by time for Q&A and small group discussion.

If you are a lay or professional leader in a UU congregation or community, in the role of clergy, Board member, welcome team volunteer, administrator, small group facilitator, Religious Educator, or another capacity, we hope you’ll join the conversation.

Glitter Blessing What is Sacred

Tuesday, January 27

Rev. Sean Neil-Barron and Rev. Jami A. Yandle will explore what is sometimes perceived as the gulf between cisgender/heteronormative and transgender/queer communities. They’ll also lift up the roles of creativity and sacredness as grounded, life-giving responses shaped by queer history and lived experience. Together we’ll engage in a timely conversation about what’s unfolding and what is most needed in this moment.

Rev. Sean Neil-Barron (he/him) is a queer Unitarian Universalist minister and proclaimer of Queer Joy, serving as one of the ministers at Foothills Unitarian Church in Fort Collins, CO, where he leads Fierce Together, a LGBTQI ministry of mutual aid, creative expression, and community organizing. He is the editor and lead author ofGlitterBlessed, a collection of blessings for queer and trans lives.

Rev. Jami A. Yandle (they/them), a non-binary Unitarian Universalist minister and board-certified chaplain serving as the UUA’s Transgender Support Specialist, offers spiritual care to trans, non-binary, and intersex communities while drawing on extensive experience in social justice chaplaincy, parish and hospice ministry, and conflict-engagement coaching.
