Parameters: 2+ people; can be done online or in person

Materials: Scratch paper and writing utensils. Copy of “meanings” below. If online, you may want a slide with the interpretations.

Description: In this game participants will create a secret message for themselves by interpreting some of their favorite things.

Have them write (or remember):

1. Their favorite animal, and a word describing it
2. Their favorite color and a word describing it
3. Their favorite body of water and a word describing it.
4. Their favorite fruit and a short description of how they eat it
5. Have them imagine a starry sky. Have them write down how they feel.

Then tell everyone the hidden meanings. In person you may hand out the hidden meanings. Online you may provide a link with the meanings and/or share a slide and talk through the meanings. Pro tip: Do it yourself, first! The hidden meanings are at the bottom of this page.

Let discussion ensue. Remind people to only share what they’re comfortable with.

4. Fruit: How you make friends with someone
5. Starry Night: How you relate to your spirituality

Variation: Pair up and take turns being the “amateur fortune teller” revealing the hidden meanings based on the “meanings” sheet.
