Religious & Civil Liberties
Affirming justice, equity and compassion in human relations, Unitarian Universalists oppose discrimination based on ability, gender, race, sexual orientation, and other identities, and believe equal access to and participation in the democratic process to be an essential civil right of all U.S. citizens.
Affirming the inherent worth of every person and the right of conscience, we also believe that humans flourish under responsible liberty, and thus support civil liberties—the right to freedom from government harassment, whether based on religion or otherwise.
