Going to Haiti: Reflection
Going to Haiti: Reflection
The  Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) partnered with the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) on a joint volunteer trip to Haiti for seminarians, May 24-31. In the post below, participant Christina Branum-Martin shares her thoughts on the journey. It has been five days since I've seen myself in a mirror. At first this was awkward. Yet, as the days pass, I realize that it has been a good exercise. The image of who I project myself to be has been overshadowed by that which others truly see: my actions, my compassion, and my deepest desire to connect to others. I am grateful for this simple yet important gift.
