Live-cast Workshops and Business Sessions for Off-site Registrants of General Assembly

Off-site registrants and delegates are able to watch live webcasts of select workshops and type in questions to presenters. They also are able to watch live-streaming video of the mini assemblies on any proposed bylaw amendments, proposed Congregational Study Action Issues, or draft Statements of Conscience. Delegates will be able to propose amendments.

2019 Role-based Tracks

While opening and closing ceremonies will help us enter and exit as one body, our first and last thematic program blocks will provide for role-based conversations and trainings. Having attendees start and end with the same group gives some continuity, and offers role-relevant content to utilize in their unique context. Tracks will meet on Thursday from 10:00 AM to noon and on Saturday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM.

We  will utilize popular education methodologies to contextualize the current role of people of faith in this social, political and economic environment, provide organizing tools and opportunities to practice building power.   • Disrupting White Fragility in Unitarian Universalist Spaces
    Saturday 1:30 PM –  2:30 PM
    White Fragility author Robin DiAngelo shows how white people’s defensive responses to being racially challenged reinforce racial hierarchy. DiAngelo offers practices to help white UUs disrupt and reject learned racist patterns of behavior, challenging them to build racial stamina as part of dismantling white supremacy culture in our movement.

  • Centering Liberation through UU Theologies

    Commission on Institutional Change
    This workshop seeks to reflect on the liberatory potential of Unitarian Universalist theologies. It will consider how the findings of the Commission on Institutional Change can inform our commitment to theological perspectives that resist white supremacy culture, that hold us accountable to the ways we have harm each other,and points to what practices of hope.
