A Litany for Elections

UU the Vote

As the election is tomorrow, we offer this Litany for the day:

For those who educate others, and register new voters,
We thank you for preserving our democracy.

For those who fill out absentee forms and completed mail-in ballots,
We thank you for preserving our democracy.

For those who provide rides, offer water and watch children, assisting others,
We thank you for preserving our democracy.

For those who work the polls, checking IDs and providing instruction,
We thank you for preserving our democracy.

For those who stand in line, waiting to cast their ballot in person,
We thank you for preserving our democracy.

For those who stay late or come early to work to others can vote,
We thank you for preserving our democracy.

For those who carefully observe, to ensure all have an equal chance to vote,
We thank you for preserving our democracy.

For those who count the votes ensuring every vote is tallied.
We thank you for preserving our democracy.

Democracy happens when we all work together.
