Religious Education Curriculum: How is it working for us?

Some of us love our thriving curriculum-based RE programs. Some of us are investing in new ways of gathering and shaping faith formation opportunities in our congregations. Most of us are somewhere on the continuum between “doing what we’ve been doing forever” and “not even sure what we’ll be doing next Sunday.”

This Winter, our RE Meet-Ups will focus on how curriculum is working in our congregations. We know there are many factors that affect what works, beyond the quality and content of the curriculum itself: congregational culture, size, staffing, and the needs, interests, and energy of the children, youth and families in a particular congregation, to name a few.

There are some patterns and pathways emerging as we notice what’s working and where we’re headed as UUs tending the faith development needs in congregations. We’ll dive into models designed to help you find your place on the “curriculum continuum” and focus on what matters most for your congregation in this moment.
