Gather Virtually with UU Campus Ministry Leaders!

Summer is over and it's time for UU campus ministry leaders to meet

In some parts of the country school has already started; elsewhere people are preparing to enjoy labor day weekend before the new semester begins.  But whatever schedule you're on it's time to plug in with your fellow campus ministry leaders for mutual support and information! Our first call of the school year is on Monday September 8th at 8 pm eastern. All campus ministry leaders are welcome: lay and ordained, students and elders, everything in between. Last year we met on the second Sunday of the month in the evenings, but many folks expressed this wasn't the best time to gather. So we put out a survey in late July and found that Monday evenings are the best time of the week for those who responded. We also found that folks enjoyed the fuzebox video conference platform and their main reasons for attending are to connect with colleagues and learn new skills and approaches from one another. So we're sticking with fuzebox and moving to Mondays at 5 pm pacific, 6 mountain, 7 central and 8 eastern. In general we'll do the first Monday of each month, but in September that Monday is Labor Day so we'll do Monday September 8th instead. We'll spend some time sharing our favorite "start of the school year" tips for outreach and community building and have plenty of time for open discussion of particular questions. We'll also briefly address how we prefer to connect on Facebook, if at all. You can find the details about joining Monday's gathering via computer or phone as well as the agenda in this document. The link to the meeting is http://fuze.me/25802407 and you can call in via phone at 1-201-479-4595. For our future meetings the schedule will be the first Monday of each month. These Mondays are October 6th, November 3rd, December 1st, January 5th, February 2nd, March 2nd, April 6th, May 4th. Go ahead and put those dates in your calendar! I'll continue to do reminders via our YACM-Leaders (Young Adult and Campus Ministry Leaders) email listserve and on Facebook via the CampusUUs page. Looking forward to fruitful discussions about the many joys and challenges of UU campus minsitry!
