UUA Denounces Supreme Court Decision on Trump’s Travel Ban

The Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray

Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray is president of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) President the Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray issued the following statement in response to today’s Supreme Court decision regarding President Trump’s executive order on travel:

The UUA is profoundly disappointed that the U.S. Supreme Court did not uphold the lower courts’ injunctions on the Trump administration’s travel ban, allowing the ban to be partially enforced while the case awaits being heard in October. We believe that these restrictions are examples of religious discrimination because they target travelers from Muslim-majority countries. Our country should welcome people regardless of their religious affiliation or lack thereof. The UUA and our member congregations will continue to offer support to immigrants, refugees, and our Muslim siblings.
