Unitarian Universalists from Across the Country Say “No Kings!”

Unitarian Universalists (UUs) did it again. On Saturday, October 18th, UUs turned out en masse to demonstrations across the country to say that in the United States, we have no kings. The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) through our organizing team, Side With Love, signed on as an official cosponsor of the mobilization efforts.

And as so often has happened throughout this nation’s history, UUs showed up to resist the abduction and deportation of our immigrant community members, resist voter suppression, celebrate our LGBTQ+ kin and communities – and protect democracy. From Iowa to Michigan to North Carolina to Wisconsin to Texas to Albany, New York; Eugene, Oregon; and Birmingham, Alabama, UUs were visible in both large cities and small towns to put love at the center and celebrate the pluralism and interdependence that strengthen the United States.

In Boston, the UUA’s Officers and Board, UU Mass Action, and other Unitarian Universalists joined 125,000 of their neighbors to show their support and speak out against growing authoritarianism.
