Unitarian Universalist Association to Hold Annual Meeting from June 18th through June 22nd Multiplatform General Assembly Will Bring Thousands of Unitarian Universalists Together

What:

General Assembly (GA) is the annual gathering of Unitarian Universalists (UUs), where the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) conducts business, gathers in community, learns and worships together, and emphasizes the Association’s mission, values, and principles. In 2025, UUs from across the country will vote for the elected position of UUA Moderator for a six-year term that will begin at the end of the General Assembly meeting.

The UUA Moderator serves as Chief Governance Officer of the Association, presiding at the Association’s annual General Assemblies and at meetings of the UUA Board of Trustees. Additionally, the Moderator represents the Association on special occasions and assists in promoting the welfare of the organization. Historically, the Moderator has been the most prominent and senior volunteer leadership role in the Association.

This year, the UUA is a multiplatform event, with UUs gathering in person in Baltimore, Maryland, and online. The theme of this year’s meeting is “Meet the Moment” – UUs will come together for an opportunity to shape the denomination’s future according to the shared values that UUs affirm, and by doing so, help to form a future that is rooted in justice, pluralism, generosity, equity, transformation, and interdependence, and centered around Love.

In addition to denominational business and spiritual gatherings, UU participants will be able to attend workshops and other events focused on UU social justice priorities. These include gatherings for individuals to come together with like-minded peers to form close-knit and supportive communities that share common goals, interests, or experiences.
