John Chryssavgis

A headshot of Rev. Dr. John Chryssavgis, a white man with a short grey beard and mustache and with swept-back grey hair, wearing frameless glasses with black wire temples. The collar of a white shirt is just visible underneath his black clergy robes. Behind him we see the stone wall of a building.

Rev. Dr. John Chryssavgis is an Orthodox Christian theologian and a member of the clergy of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Many of his writings focus on the theology of the environment, and he serves as advisor to the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople on environmental issues. In 2023, he was elected Professor of Theology at Holy Cross School of Theology, where he is also the Executive Director of the Huffington Ecumenical Institute.
