The UU Trauma Response Ministry (UUTRM) was formed in 2002 to provide timely, multilevel, culturally sensitive spiritual care to survivors of mass disasters and other critical incidents that may lead to significant trauma.

They work to educate individuals, congregations and other groups on culturally and spiritually sensitive responses to critical incidents and mass disaster.

Teams of specially trained clergy and lay people provide assessment, crisis intervention, organizational skills, and guidance grounded in Critical Incident Stress Management. The contributions of these responders range from coaching by telephone, filling pulpits, coordinating worship services, dealing with media, on site coordination, hospitality services, child care, transporting supplies, all extremely valuable in the wake of trauma causing event.
