HOPE for Us Conflict Engagement Team Coach
Kristin Famula
Kristin (she/her) loves the spaces of intersection between ministry, peace-building, and lifelong learning. As a (mostly) life-long UU and peace education and conflict engagement consultant, she facilitates opportunities for being together in new ways, including currently as a remote minister living 600 miles from the congregation she serves. A mentor once told her that conflict work is all about creativity, and Kristin loves those times of learning and transformation where humans get opportunities to practice that creativity with vulnerability. She has witnessed those moments most vividly when working as a program leader for the Unitarian Universalist College of Social Justice; through pilgrimages with the Living Legacy Project (an organization leading pilgrimages to the southern United States to explore Civil Rights movement history and its connection to our current work for racial justice), and in peace-building programs with the National Peace Academy – when the idea of peace-building becomes less abstract and more tangible and practical.
