Comrades Education (formerly White Awake) is a non-profit organization dedicated to educational programming, community building, and skill development in service of grassroots, working class, antiracist, and decolonial movements. Their past programs have “combatted white supremacy by focusing on educational resources and spiritual practices designed to support the engagement of people who’ve been socially categorized as ‘white’ in the creation of a just and sustainable society.” Their newly-reorganized mission is broader and more invitational to people not racialized as white.

Their online offerings are well-suited for individual Unitarian Universalists to explore, learn, and grow in their anti-racist, anti-oppressive, multicultural commitments. While their founders were Buddhist leaders, they are not a Buddhist organization. They seek to bring “historical, economic, and political analysis together with emotional and spiritual tools from a broad spectrum of practices to serve our diverse and growing network.”
